Book Launch: Mum’s Not Cooking – Favourite Singapore Recipes For The Near Clueless Or Plain Lazy by Denise Fletcher

21st July 2012 (Saturday)
2.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.
Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store, Crossroads
What do you do when you are homesick for some Singapore food, but cannot really cook, mum is nowhere nearby, or there is no hawker centre you can shuffle to in your shorts and flip-flops? Cook some yourself!

Adopting the loving authority and voice of one who is accustomed to creating friendly recipes for those who are simply clueless or just rather lazy about cooking, author Denise Fletcher devotes her culinary experience to creating a companionable book for all the Singapore food favourites that you, your friends or colleagues may crave. Recognising that you may not easily obtain ‘authentic’ ingredients if you are based overseas, the author also suggests food substitutions to help you approximate that taste for home.

Hailing from Eurasian heritage and a proud born-and-bred Singaporean, Denise Fletcher is an enthusiastic cook and a gifted writer. The author has a certificate in food preparation from Shatec Institutes and has been a chef in SATS Catering. She was also the owner of a restaurant named Eurasian Delights, which served Eurasian and Singapore dishes.

If you are a local food lover, join us and find out more about cooking local food for yourself at the launch of Mum’s Not Cooking – Favourite Singapore Recipes For The Near Clueless Or Plain Lazy at Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store on Saturday, 21st July 2012, 2.00 p.m. Hear Denise Fletcher share more about her experiences of putting together this cook book and pick up a copy of the book for yourself or simply as a gift for your family or friends who are living abroad. Take this chance to also sample Denise Fletcher’s Quick Cottage Pie during this event!
