Phil Yeh, who is also known as the Godfather of the American Graphic Novel, will be in Singapore to conduct a workshop on graphic novel organized by the National Book Development Council of Singapore on 23rd February 2010, Tuesday. But before that, come join him at Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store on 21st February 2010, Sunday at 2.00pm as he makes a special appearance to share with us briefly on the American graphic novel and to conduct a demonstration on how to draw short comic strips. Phil Yeh started an organization known as Cartoonists Across America and The World in 1985 to tackle illiteracy problems in the United States at that time. Through this organization, he wishes to send out the message that cartoons can be used to actually inspire people of all ages to read more. Phil Yeh has self-published over 80 educational, non-violent books. He is passionate about literacy, education, and the arts. He has selflessly dedicated himself to getting real books into the hands of real kids, and gives away his comics at all his events. |
