Partisans -- Paperback

A story which begins with the Spanish Civil War and follows the life of Barney Sand, a boy of eleven fleeing from the war zone with his father. They are aided in their escape by Jacobi and it is in later life that Barney Sand hears of Jacobi's disappearance and risks everything to find him.
