The Early Baroque Era : From the late 16th century to the 1660s (Man & Music)

Begins with the innovations of Monteverdi and developments in Northern Italy. By the end of the 1670s the Baroque spirit flourished north of the Alps, at the courts in Paris, Vienna, London and the German states. Spain and Portugal also made distinctive contributions to the culture of the Baroque.
