A veteran journalist, Scott's work has appeared in numerous publications, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the New York Post, and she is the author of five previous books. At the request of the Utah-based Best Friends Animal Society, Scott traveled to New Orleans to document the plight of pets displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
