This book describes the authors experiences as a teacher and student in a 10-week online writing course Warnock taught at Drexel U. on persuasive writing and reading, to show teachers the teaching and learning perspectives on this type of course, including how students perceive digitally-facilitated writing courses and how they navigate participation. They detail their strategies, activities, approaches, thoughts, and responses during the course, along with pedagogical resources for implementing teaching practices. Chapters focus on specific aspects: breaking the ice; the online writing/interacting environment; rough drafts, peer review, and response; revision and focusing on final drafts; forming an online writing team; homework; reading and the literacy load; writing collaboratively; portfolios and compiling student work; and reflecting, evaluating, and moving on.
