The conclave popularly known as Vatican II convened for ten weeks during each of four years from 1962 to 1965, and the 16 texts here are widely considered to be the core documents that announced major changes in policies and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Among the areas they address are divine revelation, the ministry and life of priests, the apostolate of lay people, the Catholic eastern churches, religious liberty, and the relation of the Catholic Church to other religions.
