Librarian of the Library Company of Philadelphia, Wolf (1911-91) began his reconstruction of Franklin's library during the 1950s, but did not live to complete the task. Hayes (English, U. of Central Oklahoma) completed the work and brought it to publication. The catalogue cites actual surviving copies owned by Franklin, titles he owned where incomplete documentary evidence precludes a more precise identification of the work, and works he is known to have owned of which his personal copy has not been located. The 3,735 entries include information about the physical volume, cost, editions printed, and other matters. Annotation 2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
