Reforming the IMF for the 21st Century

In September 2005, the Institute for International Economics brought together government officials, representatives of international financial institutions, and academics to address questions of how to restore the legitimacy of the International Monetary Fund as global organ of financial stability. Editor Truman (former director of the Division of International Finance of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1977 to 1998) has organized the resulting 29 papers into sections on the role of the IMF in the international monetary system, IMF governance, IMF lending facilities, IMF financial resources, and issues for the future.
