Mary Ballard, a lady's maid, leads a very different life at night as an Irish exile in New York's underworld, while her wealthy employer is having a secret affair with a stable groom, who unbeknownst to her is Mary's brother, but Mary must make a difficult choice when their secrets are revealed.
