Evans (entomology, Colorado State U.) has written both scholarly and popular books, and here offers another of the latter. In 19 essays, he portrays the various animals he encountered during his time in the mountains. In addition to several insects, of course, he looks at owls, woodrats, crossbills, and marmots.
