Strategies for Writing Center Research (Lenses on Composition Studies)

McKinney presents the book she wished she had as a writing center tutor and graduate student who was trying to become part of the composition and rhetoric community but was not sure how to go about it. She argues that more writing center research is needed, more specifically empirical research that involves planned inquiry with systematic data collection, analysis, and reporting. Her topics include getting situated, studying texts and talk, studying sites and tools, analyzing and interpreting data, and sharing research.
