At the same time, one can ask how representative the listed family business is of the much more common form of private family business. The listed family business inevitably has non-family shareholders and is subject to more intensive regulation, particularly in terms of transparency. The conference is organized by the Max Planck Institute and the Institute for Mittelstand and Family Firms (HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration).
