Other areas covered include cruise work, a visit to Indonesia, pantomime, music hall, amateur operatic societies and further research into the life and work of Sir Arthur Sullivan and the Victorian composer Gerard Francis Cobb.

An account of the author's life as a free-lance accompanist, conductor and researcher after the demise of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in 1982.
