Wanda I. Rivera-Rivera hizo estudios graduados en Literatura Comparada en la Universidad de Puerto Rico y obtuvo su doctorado en Literatura Latinoamericana en Harvard University. Ha impartido clases en Harvard University y en la Universidad de Massachusetts en Boston. Cárcel y creación refleja sus intereses de investigación por las políticas y poéticas de encierro y su impronta creativa en la producción cultural, la historia oral y los testimonios de escritores, artistas visuales y colectivos insurgentes que se han destacado en los conflictos de lucha armada y las luchas de liberación nacional en el Caribe insular hispánico. Ha publicado artículos sobre estos temas en revistas y volúmenes académicos. ~ Wanda I. She has taught at Harvard University and the University of Massachusetts in Boston. Cárcel y creación shows her research interests in the politics and poetics of confinement and her creative mark on cultural production, oral history, and the testimonies of writers, visual artists, and insurgent groups that have stood out in armed conflicts and national liberation struggles in the hispanic insular Caribbean. She has published articles on these topics in journals and scholarly volumes.
