Harry Levi Hollingworth (1880-1956) was one of the pioneers in what is now called industrial-organizational psychology, and author of numerous published books and scholarly articles. In 1940 he wrote an unpublished account of his life, now made available through this two-volume set. The first volume describes in-depth Hollingworth's childhood and upbringing in rural Nebraska, his varied post-high school work experiences over seven years prior to enrolling at the U. of Nebraska at age 23, and his experiences as a psychology major there. It contains a reproduction of the first four parts of Hollingworth's original typescript, complete with his hand-written edits, and Benjamin's introductory overview of Hollingworth's life and career. The second volume focuses on his applied career, from graduate studies at Columbia U. through his work in applying psychology to business.
