Sein, Erstursache, Glückseligkeit (Veröffentlichungen des Grabmann-Institutes zur Erforschung der mittelalterlichen Theologie und Philosophie)

In the thirteenth century, two works, Aristotle's Metaphysics and the Liber de causis, were read at the University of Paris as part of a unified course in metaphysics. Were the elements of Aristotelian and Platonic theory, then, entirely compatible with one another? This study presents a possible synthesis by proposing a reading bringing together Thomas of Aquinas's commentaries on the two works.
