Smart cards are playing an increasingly important role in areas such as ban- 1 king,electroniccommerce,andtelecommunications. TheJavaCard language hasbeenproposedasahigh-levellanguageforprogrammingmulti-application smartcards. Theuseofahigh-levellanguagecanfacilitatethedevelopmentand veri?cation of software for smart cards.
