§16§Stalking is a relatively new crime in terms of law in the United States. Much of the population still considers it a crime that affects the rich and famous. As more recent studies have shown, it affects a substantial portion of the population, especially for young adults. This raises questions regarding whether or not they would recognize the crime and how it effects their reporting behavior. This publication examines identification and reporting using supporting theories of law and gender based fear of crime.
