§16§With the exponential growth of computers inhabiting the earth with many millions of miles of optical fiber, wire and air waves, link people, their computers and the vast array of information handling devices together, we can say that we are living in cyber era. This globalization and digital convergence in the emerging knowledge society has raised complex ethical, legal and societal issues with some complex questions on the freedom of expression, access to information, the right to privacy, intellectual property rights, digital divide, cyber crimes, digital security and privacy which has led to the growth of new forms of national and transnational crimes which have virtually no boundaries and may affect any country across the globe, which have affected human lives directly or indirectly. At the one end cyber system provides incomparable opportunities to communicate and learn and at the other end some individuals or community exploit its power for criminal purposes. In this book, a §16§ new cyber crime investigation model has been introduced which is structured in nature and has been customized for any type of digital crime .It tries to capture the full scope of an investigation process.
