Kurztext The book is devoted to questions of modern instrumentation. The subject of analysis is chamber works by Western European and American composers of the 1960s and 1980s. It covers in detail such aspects as an expanded interpretation of instrumental technique and the phenomenon of expanding the functions of the interpreter in the performing arts, examines the latest performing techniques, and offers a classification of chamber ensembles. The author reveals the main trends in the development of modern chamber music. These include the renewal of the instrumental means due to the non-traditional use and expansion of the possibilities of the existing instruments, the invention of new instruments, the use of the ancient instruments in a structurally improved form, the involvement of the folklore instruments of non-European cultures into the performing practice.
