Yvonne Venegas: The Pencil of Nature

A photographic examination of gendered poses on and off camera California-born, Mexico City–based photographer Yvonne Venegas (born 1971) juxtaposes women’s poses in photographs taken by men with the poses of men in celebrated examples of self-portraiture, questioning the link between gender and nature by highlighting the plasticity of bodies in front of the camera.
