The Progress of Dogma (Library of Ecclesiastical History)

A study of the development of doctrine in the unfolding history of the Christian church. The Author traces the organic unity of doctrine in the ongoing history of the Christian church. Orr, whose grasp of the literature was unequalled, saw how doctrine had developed as a reaction to some particular dispute in each era. The book also describes the relationship between the development of doctrinal ideas and the spread of Christianity.
