The program (and this volume) are divided into five topics: Kondo-lattice semiconductors; superconductivity of f-electron systems; anomalous transport and thermal properties of 4f- and 5f-compounds; low-carrier heavy-electron systems; and theoretical investigation of heavy-electron and mixed-valence states. The papers include reviews of both the recent advances and historical background of each topic, and the volume is proposed as a tutorial text for researchers in solid state physics.
