Awbrey (undergraduate education, Oakland U.) et al. compile 12 essays by contributors from around the world in a variety of fields, from educational psychology to business to teaching and physics. They reflect on the concept of wholeness, or integrative learning, that not only emphasizes learning to know and do, but learning to live together and learning to be. Themes include the connection between science, art, and spirituality, and contemplative and mindfulness practices. Individual essays consider society's beliefs, systems of knowledge, dualistic relationships, changes in human awareness, the modern paradigm of higher education, meaning in higher education, emotional intelligence, and being present and finding meaning in life and the workplace.
