Languages in the International Perspective

This collection makes a significant contribution to international awareness and the promotion of intercultural understanding. Due to sophisticated advances in technology, the communication networks of the world are expanding at a rapid rate. Paradoxically, expansion has brought an information gap in international understanding that cannot be bridged by technology alone. Information often does not flow freely from one society to another creating isolation for many groups for reasons other than technological ones. These papers shed light on the linguistic, socioeconomic, and political reasons for this isolation.
