Representing Black Girl Magic with Contemporary Picture Books

Representing Black Girl Magic with Contemporary Picture Books explores how contemporary, culturally relevant, and responsive picture books can provide educators with a chance to teach about race and racism in the classroom. A wave of recently published picture books by Black women authors have pushed back against negative beliefs, countered negative stereotypes, and celebrated the joy and magic of Black girls and their families.
