Remote sensing is an epic narrative in which light (electromagnetic waves) emitted by sources like the sun interacts (reflects, absorbs) with various objects before reaching human eyes or satellite sensors, where it is perceived and information is extracted. This is nothing more than what humans use unconsciously as vision, although in a very limited range (visible light only). The way this grand story is told varies distinctively among authors. Those involved in remote sensing are ultimately encouraged to write their own unique story. This book is the author's story. His research field is the application of satellite remote sensing to disaster management, which he has been involved with since 2006. When the author first became involved in this, he was at a loss as to what to do. This book is the answer to the question he had in 2006. This book is intended to help many people, including university students and researchers, who find themselves in similar situations as the author in 2006.
