Miano (history, U. of California-San Diego) examines the reasons and techniques for keeping time in Israel and Judah during their separate monarchies, about 930-586 BCE, with some attention to the earlier period of their united kingdom about 1020-930. Among his topics are the day as a unit of measure, when the year began and ended, the use of eras, genealogical lists containing chronological information, sources of the priestly genealogical chronology, chronological sources of the Deuteronomic history, and historical reconstructions.
