Mistress and maid: A household story unfolds within the quiet confines of a modest home run by three elderly sisters Miss Leaf Selina and Hilary who take on a new servant Elizabeth Hand. Underneath the surface of household chores and modest rituals the narrative engages themes of compassion, moral education and the slow building of trust across class divides, presenting a tender portrait of how ordinary lives can shape one another in unexpected ways.
