In an attempt to address smallholders' barriers to climate adaptation in Zimbabwe, Mabeza highlights the inspirational work of Zephaniah Phiri Maseko, an internationally acclaimed and award-winning smallhold farmer who initiated innovative agricultural practices as a response to climate variable in drought-prone Zvishanave in rural Zimbabwe. The study is a revision of his PhD dissertation in social anthropology at the University of Cape Town, and is based on his ethnographic fieldwork in rural Zimbabwe.
