God's Generals : Movements of the Spirit (Spiritual Biographies of Gordan Lindsay, Demos Shakarian, David Du Plessis, Myrtle Beall, Lonnie Frisbee, Chuck Smith, and John Wimber) (God's Generals)

In this seventh book in the God's Generals series, Roberts Liardon chronicles unexpected, influential, and explosive movements of the Spirit that have shaped the church and the message of the gospel in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

After giving the context of these movements, including the dramatic visitation of God in the Asuza Street Revival, the book highlights the spiritual biographies of men and women whom God called to initiate or support sweeping spiritual renewals that turned many people's hearts to God, demonstrated the reality of divine healing, and brought an awareness of the power and work of the Holy Spirit to multitudes. They include:

• Gordon Lindsay (1906–1973) and the Voice of Healing
• Demos Shakarian (1913–1993) and the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International
• David Du Plessis (1905–1987), the Charismatic Catholics, and the World Council of Churches
• Myrtle Beall (1896–1979) and the Latter Rain
• Lonnie Frisbee (1949–1993), Chuck Smith (1927–2013), and the Jesus Revolution
• John Wimber (1934–1997), Lonnie Frisbee (1949–1993), and the Vineyard

You will be drawn in to the fascinating faith journeys of each of these individuals, including their victories and setbacks, who were deeply moved by the Holy Spirit to further God's purposes, and you will be led to prepare your own heart to be used by God in His unfolding plans for the world.
