The text is based on Joseph's teaching at Saint Mary's College, which explored the links between logic, grammar, and rhetoric, as well as induction, poetics, figurative language, and poetry. This new edition includes notes by Todd Moody (philosophy, Saint Joseph's U., Philadelphia) providing commentary and amplification, and the addition of source citations using a contemporary standard format. The outline format used by Joseph has also been revised for greater clarity between information and examples.
