Published jointly with the Department of Art and Archaeology at Princeton U. (the home of the Index of Christian Art), this volume presents a selection of 657 images of medieval works of art depicting the labors of the months and the signs of the zodiac. Many of the images are from manuscripts at the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York; all are reproduced in b&w. The volume includes an introduction by Hourihane (director of the Index) and will be an essential reference of the iconography of this common theme for scholars and students of medieval art.
