Where Have All the Textbooks Gone? : Toward Sustainable Provision of Teaching and Learning Materials in Sub-Saharan Africa (Directions in Development - Human Development)

Textbooks need to be readily available in low-income countries, to help trump the adverse effects of large class-sizes, poorly motivated and inadequately trained teachers, and short effective school years. Sub Saharan African governments and publishers can do better in terms of quality, availability, and cost.
