The Seminole Indians of Florida were removed to Indian Territory in Oklahoma in the 1830s, but small bands managed to hide out in the Florida Everglades and Big Cypress Swamp. The author of Seminole Freedom and other books on Florida pays homage to the tribe's legacy by tracing their history and presenting a tour of the Seminole Trail from the reconstructed Mission San Luis for Apalachee Indians in Tallahassee to the Big Cypress Reservation where traditional skills are taught, and tribal casinos in the state. Includes maps, visitor information, and photographs. Annotation 2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
