This 50th anniversary issue of the Socialist Register, a series of annual volumes collecting social analysis and discussion, focuses on the theme of class. International contributors offer 14 essays on topics such as the Walmart working class, the underpinnings of class in the digital age, the transnational capitalist class, Brazil's new imperial capitalism, mass protests, and working-class politics in Britain. The last two chapters look at the lineage of the Socialist Register and survey the past 50 years of the Socialist Register. Most of the material comes from a February 2013 workshop held in Toronto.
