The Art of the Genoese Colonies of the Black Sea Basin (1261-1475) (Medieval Mediterranean)

Rafał Quirini-Popławski offers here the first panorama of the artistic phenomena of the Genoese outposts around the Black Sea. He argues that artistic production was less "Genoese" than previously thought, but nevertheless extraordinarily rich and colorful, clearly demonstrating intercultural exchange.
