Spellhorn (Harpercollins Children's Classics)

A blind girl and a unicorn in a world where magic and reality merge together. Can Laura save the Wild Ones and take them to the safety of the Bright Wilderness? Her breath was bursting in her lungs in case she frightened the timid thing away. The tips of her fingers touched silky hair. She drew her hands slowly away and stood still, letting her breath out inch by inch. The creature was right in front of her. As soon as Laura climbs on to the unicorn’s back she is hurled into a wild and magical world. For only with Laura as their leader can Spellhorn and the Wild Ones reach the safety of the Bright Wilderness. But can the unicorns lead Laura back home to her own world? Powerful and moving, Spellhorn is a delicious blend of fantasy and reality from the two-time winner of the Carnegie Medal, Berlie Doherty, author of Dear Nobody and Street Child.
