A collection of never-before published drawings from legendary Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, shining a light on the creative process behind his radical work. Flaming coats, slumped figures and elegant dresses: Yohji Yamamoto’s drawings are far more than simply preparatory sketches: they are a glimpse into his unique vision of fashion. However, they have never been fully explored, and only a few examples have been seen by the world at large. Written by Alexandre Samson and with images directly selected by Yamamoto himself, as well as design support from Peter Saville, Yohji Yamamoto Drawings reveals previously unpublished drawings to offer readers unparalleled insight into the designer’s creative world. Featuring both menswear and womenswear designs and sketches, they reflect an artist committed to exploring the limits of fashion. This official book is a vital publication not only for Yamamoto’s fans, but for all fashion lovers.
