The Greek pronominal adjective is generally glossed as All, Each, or Every, but Johnston (New Testament studies, Dallas Theological Seminary, Texas) finds such slackness unsuitable for scholars of the New Testament, and looks for structural and semantic clues to help them determine which of the meanings is the truth in a particular context. Having done so, he demonstrates the application of his methods in a number of significant passages. The study began as his Ph.D. dissertation for his home institution in 2002. It is not indexed.
