Finding a diversity of attitudes toward astrology in early Christianity, Hegedus (New Testament, Wilfrid Laurier U., Ontario) explores both positive and negative views and the arguments behind them. His topics include the argument of different destinies, the argument from animals, opposition to astrology and early Christian doctrine, astrological themes in Matthew 2.1-12 and its interpretation in early Christian tradition, the Book of Revelation, and Origen. The study began as his doctoral dissertation in religious studies for the University of Toronto. Annotation 2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
