For this study, Beryl Cruse, Liddy Stewart, and Sue Norman combine information from journals, papers, and reports of ethno-historical and archaeological surveys of the area with information from oral accounts. They profile the Aboriginal people of the south coast of New South Wales, Australia through the metaphor of Haliiotis , abalone, a marine mollusk that has been a mainstay of their diet for thousands of years. The three are working to establish an archive at the Monaroo Bobberrer Gudu Keeping Place outside of Eden. The book is distributed in the US by ISBS.
