A betrayed witch. A fractured past. A dark secret.
Two months after her abduction, Alice is ready to return to her job as a Paladin Agent, tracking and detaining Breed by any means necessary. Even though bones have healed and bites have scarred, she's no closer to the truth, and the one man who knows is nowhere to be seen.
Riley Storm has his own problems being heir to the Storm empire and a Guardian of the Order. Keeping his distance from the fiery and unpredictable Alice seems like the safest choice—until duty forces him back into her life. Whether she wants him to be or not.
When a string of vampire murders shocks the city, Alice is thrust into a new role as liaison to the local authorities, a prestigious position that could help mend the fragile peace between Breed and humans. But as she digs deeper into the investigation, she uncovers threads of a darker conspiracy— one steeped in lies, betrayal, and blood.
Can Alice follow her instincts to uncover the truth before the city falls apart?
Or will the ghosts of her past—and the unwelcome pull of Riley Storm—unravel her all over again?
