American Indian Liberation : A Theology of Sovereignty

Tinker, a member of the Osage nation and professor of American Indian Cultures and Religious Traditions at Iliff School of Theology, has written lively essays reflecting on the current state of native Americans. It examines both the mindset of modern native Americans and their continuing efforts to maintain an independent culture despite a history of oppression and violence. It also identifies suggestions for improving intercultural relations. The book is clearly written and thought-provoking. Annotation 2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
