Rewriting the Sacred Text : What the Old Greek Texts Tell Us about the Literary Growth of the Bible

De Troyer (Hebrew Bible, Claremont School of Theology, California) describes an activity undertaken by the faithful since the time the words that would become Scripture were first written down. The dichotomy between biblical and non-biblical texts, she says, is false, because the biblical text itself is often nothing else than a rewritten text. The Society of Biblical Literature publishes the book and distributes the paperbound edition; Brill distributes the clothbound edition. Annotation 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
