Roots in the Great Plains, Volume I : The Applied Psychology of Harry Hollingworth

Harry Levi Hollingworth (1880-1956) was one of the pioneers in what is now called industrial-organizational psychology, and author of numerous published books and scholarly articles. In 1940 he wrote an unpublished account of his life, now made available through this two-volume set. The first volume describes in-depth Hollingworth's childhood and upbringing in rural Nebraska, his varied post-high school work experiences over seven years prior to enrolling at the U. of Nebraska at age 23, and his experiences as a psychology major there. It contains a reproduction of the first four parts of Hollingworth's original typescript, complete with his hand-written edits, and Benjamin's introductory overview of Hollingworth's life and career.
