"Covering the entire range of contents and methods of Büchner-related research, the Georg Büchner Jahrbuch is to serve as a forum for stocktaking and innovation, reflection and debate, source documentation and easy communication, discussion and mutual understanding". Ever since setting this goal in the preface to Volume 1 (1981), the Büchner Yearbook has been striving to achieve its aim in all of its regularly published sections (Essays- Debates- Short Contributions and Commentaries- Documents and Materials - Reviews). With 100 contributions from 14 countries, wide acclaim not only from experts and, last but by no means least, the development of Büchner-related research as such, the Büchner Yearbook has turned out a great success.
Das Georg Büchner Jahrbuch soll als ein Forum der Bestandsaufnahme und der Innovation, der Reflexion und der Debatte, der Quellendokumentation wie der raschen Mitteilung, der Auseinandersetzung wie der Verständigung dienen und dabei die gesamte Breite der Forschungsergebnisse und -diskussionen erfassen. Dieser Zielrichtung sucht das Jahrbuch in seinen Abteilungen Aufsätze, Debatten, Dokumente und Materialien sowie Rezensionen gerecht zu werden.
