People live in spaces- from the caves of the Stone Age to constructed architectures towards the digital worlds of the present time. Spaces are expressions of social and cultural change. This results in states of being-in-between. How and where do these states manifest in the architectural space? How do people interact with the spaces in-between in which they find themselves?The volume presents inter alia strategies of Nigerian (female) migrants on the way to Europe, spatial structures in English parish churches in the 15th and 16th century and the suburban in works of Camille Pissarro.
