Civil Liability

The civil liability of shipowners and insurers of Brazilian and foreign vessels resulting from environmental damage has been addressed since the industrial revolution, bringing to the study the elaboration of international declarations on environmental matters, and the application of the polluter pays principle and its respective civil liability, so that it can deal with the main figures of waterway transport, analysing the case of the sinking of the Haidar Beirut in Barcarena-PA.
